A Room Rooted in Family History
One of the most meaningful elements in the room was a china hutch originally belonging to the homeowners’ parents. Rather than replacing it, we chose to make it the focal point of the space.
An Elevated Transitional Bedroom
I sourced a new upholstered bed featuring a wide panel headboard that creates a stronger focal point and adds warmth, softness, and scale to the room. The larger headboard grounds the space beautifully and gives the room the sense of structure it was previously missing.
A More Collected Home Office
This office originally worked—but it felt busy. Open storage, visible clutter, and a desk pushed against the wall left the space without a clear focal point.
When Proportion Rules (Even When It Breaks the Rule)
If a table had met the height of those arms, it would have competed with the weight of the chairs and interrupted their silhouette, so I selected a shorter table — not because the “rule” didn’t apply, but because the rule had to yield to the form.
