This home office was transformed from busy and full to calm, modern, and functional.
This office originally worked—but it felt busy. Open storage, visible clutter, and a desk pushed against the wall left the space without a clear focal point. It was functional, but not especially calm. The redesign focused on simplifying and giving the room structure.
A new executive-style desk now anchors the space, pulled forward to create presence and better flow. Built-in storage keeps everything contained, allowing the room to feel more composed day to day. Two chairs in front soften the layout and make the space feel more welcoming.
The entire room was color drenched in Sherwin Williams Smoky Blue, including the trim and ceiling. The tone is soft and slightly warm, which helps the space feel grounded rather than stark.
From there, the styling was kept minimal—just enough to add interest without reintroducing visual noise. A modern lamp, a faux fiddle leaf fig, and a single piece of artwork bring in a mix of clean lines and organic softness that aligns with the rest of the home
The result is a room that feels quieter, more intentional, and easier to settle into—while still working exactly as it should.
Obviously, for the room to function as an office, the computer has to return. The desk includes cord management, a keyboard tray, and a location where a laptop connects and charges, keeping the visual clutter minimal while the space is functional:
